As a photographer it's always good to try something new. In a recent edition of Outdoor Photography an article by Mark Cornick showed how to create abstract photographs using Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). As this would suggest this involves moving the camera as the shutter is fired, something most photographs try an avoid. The end result is an abstract effect that looks like you have used the camera to paint. Longer exposures of several seconds are crucial to get this to work its then a matter of trial and error. Finally tweaking contrast and saturation can add to the effect. These photos where taken at Stourhead in the Autumn to make the most of the Autumnal colours.
